The Greeks measured time two ways. The first is Chronos which is where we get the word chronology and refers to sequential time. The second word the ancient Greeks used is Kairos which signifies a proper or opportune time for action. As I closed down the year of 2020 I began a study on the concept of time inspired by a sermon I once heard in Atlanta. Kairos is a “defining moment” and something I try to interpret. Here are my notes from both my January study and several rooms we hosted on Clubhouse on this subject.

• Kairos is a time that requires conversion from people 

• Kairos is a dangerous time because if you allow it to pass the loss is immeasurable (Luke 19:44)

• Kairos is opportunity 

• You can’t schedule a defining moment 

• There is a due date for everything God has given you 

• You can become intoxicated by your own potential 

• You have to be dissatisfied with what you have already accomplished
